About Us

Countywide Home Inspections was started in 2014 by the founder who had a lengthy career in home building and remodeling.  Applying his knowledge of how a home should be built to quality standards and performing home inspections is second nature to him.

Fredericksburg is rapidly increasing as one of Virginia’s most popular areas to live and with that a need for more experienced home inspectors.  Our goal at Countywide Home Inspections was to start a Fredericksburg home inspection business using knowledge of homebuilding plus earning certification credentials through extensive training provided by the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI).

We do this through a thorough inspection adhering to the standards set forth by the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI).  An objective, hands-on review of the structure of the home from the foundation to the roof.  Weather permitting, we even walk the roof!

Countywide tests all utilities including electric, heating, air conditioning, and water heater.  We assess the exterior area of the home including the grounds and garage.  All interior areas are thoroughly examined to make sure there are no safety hazards.

We go the extra step to ensure we find everything that impacts the quality of your home.  Our knowledge of home construction enables us to recognize structural and mechanical issues not easily recognized by other Fredericksburg home inspectors.  There are many older homes requiring special skills to be a qualified Fredericksburg home inspector.

Countywide Home Inspections has provided a sample home inspection report so you can familiarize yourself with the detailed aspects of what a home inspection includes.  The report contains photos, recommendations, and professional illustrations to demonstrate exactly what was inspected. Our job isn’t over until you understand everything in your report!

It is important the home inspector you choose understands home construction and is certified in the home inspection industry to perform a quality evaluation of your perspective home.

We hope you will choose Countywide Home Inspections for your home inspection!

We had Nat McCague from Countywide Home Inspections perform a home inspection and radon test for us. Nat took his time to ensure he thoroughly covered everything in the home. When it was time to brief us on his findings he did so patiently, thoroughly and took us around the house again to show us exactly what he was referring to. The actual report was made available to us the next day, and the radon test results were available soon after that. The report was clear, excellent photos and very easy to follow. He then also made himself available for any questions we had at any time. Overall it was a very pleasant and professional experience. I recommend Nat for your home inspection, you’ll be delighted with the service he provides.
